The Dallas Cowboys are trying to make themselves a contender.
Unfortunately, they are coming off one of the worst losses in franchise history last Sunday at home to the Detroit Lions.
All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb feels like a superstar in his own right.
At least, that’s how former NFL MVP Cam Newton feels.
“There’s only one dog on the Cowboys’ offensive side of the ball… and that’s CeeDee Lamb. I’ll have to see more,” Newton said on Friday’s first take.
Lamb looks to be on pace for another great season in Dallas.
Through six games, he has 32 receptions for 467. yards and two touchdowns.
He’s on pace to easily eclipse 1,000 yards, even if the touchdowns are a little short.
The problem with cowboys is that they can’t bowl to Lamb all the time and win.
Defenses have started and will continue to try to lock him down so they can have quarterback Dak Prescott hit them with someone else.
So far this season, while the Lambs have been productive, the offense has struggled to find loads of success.
Has scored more than 20 points twice in six games.
Without a truly elite backfield, the offense almost feels one-dimensional because of the combination of Prescott and Lamb.
Head coach Mike McCarthy must try to improve the play and production of everyone around Lamb.
Dallas will face San Francisco on Sunday Night Football this week after a bye week.
