King Charles has granted Royal Warrants of Appointment to almost 400 companies, from a rat-catcher to a hairdresser.

They include Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky, Command Pest Control and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Warrants were reviewed by Buckingham Palace following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and 486 will continue to hold warrants from the king.

They also include Heinz Foods, Nestle, Molton Brown and Dunelm the soft furnishings retailer. King Charles chose to renew Parker’s royal warrant, despite getting visibly upset over a leaking fountain pen just days after his mother’s death in 2022.

Drinks giant Diageo was granted warrants for Justerini & Brooks, Johnnie Walker, Royal Lochnagar, Tanqueray Gordon & Company and The Pimm’s Company.

In addition, Queen Camilla has granted seven new royal warrants, including her favoured fashion designers Anna Valentine, and Fiona Clare, as well as her Mayfair hairdresser Jo Hansford and favoured hat designer Philip Treacy.

Following 152 grants in May 2024 for companies which had held a warrant to the King as Prince of Wales, the review of Royal Warrants is now closed.

For Justerini & Brooks, this association dates back to the supply of wines for the Coronation of King George III in 1761, Johnnie Walker has held a Royal Warrant to the Monarch for the supply of its Scotch whiskies since King George V in 1934, and this is the fifth Royal Warrant to be granted to Tanqueray Gordon & Company since 1925.

Dan Mobley, global corporate relations director at Diageo, and grantee for the Royal Warrant held by John Walker & Sons, said: “It is a great privilege to supply our products to the Royal Household, and with the granting of these five new Royal Warrants to HM The King, we will display His Majesty’s Royal Arms on these brands with immense pride.”

Royal warrants are granted for five years and are a mark or recognition for the ongoing supply of goods or services to the Royal Household and/or senior members of the Royal Family.

The warrant itself is a document that permits a company to use the Royal Arms in connection with its business, including on products and packaging.

Businesses chosen by the Palace represent a range of industries, from heritage crafts to clothing and food manufacturers.

Applications for new royal warrants from the King and Queen are being considered, and an announcement is expected in spring 2025.
